This policy explains what happens when you cancel a subscription and when money is returned. In short: subscription fees are not refundable — which is exactly why every important feature can be tried for free first. It applies to every plan bought on dev.ebyai.in.
01The short version
- There are no refunds on subscription fees. Try everything that matters on the free Explorer plan first — pay only once you are sure it works for you.
- A paid plan unlocks the full question bank, adaptive engine and mock tests immediately on payment. Because the product is digital and delivered at once, an activated plan cannot be refunded.
- You can cancel any time. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not refund the period you have already paid for.
- The only money we return is a billing error — a duplicate charge, a payment that did not activate, or an unauthorised charge (see below).
02Try before you pay
The Explorer plan is free. It gives you a 7-day window to try the platform — daily past-year practice, AI doubt answers and mock access (with some limits), and no card needed — enough to judge whether it is right for you before spending anything.
We would much rather you used the free plan first than bought a subscription and asked for it back. That is precisely why we do not offer refunds: the trial is free and covers every core feature, so the decision to pay is always made after you have tried it.
03Subscriptions are non-refundable once activated
A paid plan unlocks the full question bank, the adaptive engine, mock tests and the AI doubt solver immediately on payment confirmation. Because the entire product is delivered at that moment and is digital, subscription fees are not refundable once the plan is active.
This is stated plainly rather than buried: if you are unsure, use the 7-day free trial first.
04What we always refund
These are refunded in full, without you having to argue for it:
- Duplicate payments — you were charged more than once for the same plan.
- Failed activation — money left your account but the plan did not activate.
- Charged after cancellation — a renewal was taken after you cancelled.
- Unauthorised payment — a charge you did not make, subject to verification.
These are corrections of an incorrect charge, not refunds of the service. The money is reversed to your original payment method through your bank or Razorpay. Everything else — an activated subscription you no longer want — is non-refundable.
05How to cancel
Cancel from Billing & plans → My plans in the app at any time. Cancelling stops the next renewal. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for — you do not lose access the moment you cancel.
We do not charge a cancellation fee. Under Rule 4(8) of the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules 2020 we may not, unless we bear equivalent charges ourselves.
Deleting your account is a separate thing from cancelling a plan, and it does not refund one — cancel the plan first, then delete.
06Auto-renewing plans and the e-mandate
Some plans renew automatically. You are told before you subscribe whether a plan does, at what price and on what interval — an auto-renewing plan is never the silent default of a one-time purchase.
Choosing one registers a standing instruction (an e-mandate) with your bank or card issuer, authenticated once at setup. Under the Reserve Bank of India’s e-mandate framework you then get, from your bank rather than from us:
- a pre-debit notification at least 24 hours before every renewal, naming us, the amount, the date and the mandate reference, with an option to opt out of that debit;
- no OTP on renewals up to ₹15,000 per transaction; above that your bank asks you to authenticate each time;
- a confirmation after each successful debit.
How to stop it. Turn auto-renew off, or cancel, from Billing & plans → My plans — autopay stops immediately and you keep access to the end of the period you have paid for. You may also revoke the mandate directly with your bank or card issuer; do tell us as well, so your plan record matches.
If a renewal is taken after you cancelled, that is a billing error and we refund it in full — see what we always refund. A renewal taken before you cancelled is a period you have paid for, and it runs to its end rather than being refunded.
07How to raise a refund request
Email hr@aashita.ai from the address on your account, with the payment reference or order ID. If you would rather escalate formally, use the grievance redressal route, where we acknowledge within 48 hours and resolve within one month.
Approved refunds go back to the original payment method. We cannot redirect a refund to a different card, account or UPI ID.
