You can delete your EByAi account and its data at any time, from the app or the website, without asking us. This page explains how, what gets removed, what we are required to keep, and how to undo it if you change your mind within 30 days.
01How to delete your account
On the website or in the app, once you are signed in:
- go to Profile;
- scroll to Danger zone;
- choose Delete account;
- type
DELETEto confirm.
That is the whole flow — no email to us, no waiting on a reply. You are signed out on every device immediately.
The same control is in the Android and iOS apps, in the same place, and works identically.
02If you cannot sign in
Email hr@aashita.ai with “Account deletion request” in the subject, from the email address on the account, and include the registered mobile number.
We verify that the request is genuinely yours before acting — an account cannot be deleted by someone who merely knows your number. We acknowledge within 48 hours and complete the request within one month.
If the account belongs to a child in your care, say so in the email; a parent or guardian can request deletion on their behalf. See Children’s Privacy.
03Take your data with you first
Deletion is permanent, so export first if you want a record. Under the DPDP Act 2023 you can download a copy of your data — profile, practice history, attempts, results and subscription record — as PDF, Excel or CSV from Profile, before you delete. We cannot recover it for you afterwards.
04What happens, and when
- Immediately — the account is deactivated, and every session on every device is signed out. It stops appearing on the leaderboard and in search.
- For 30 days — your data is held, untouched, so the deletion can be reversed. Nothing is used for anything during this window.
- After 30 days — the account and the personal data attached to it are permanently erased. This runs automatically and cannot be undone.
We tell you the exact deletion date when you confirm, and email it to you as well.
05What is deleted
- your name, email, phone number, date of birth and profile details;
- your avatar and bio;
- your practice history, attempts, mock results, analytics and RP;
- your doubts and the answers you received;
- your identity-verification record, if you completed one — see Identity Verification;
- your saved preferences and notification settings.
06What we keep, and why
A small amount survives deletion because the law requires it or because removing it would harm someone else. Stated plainly rather than left vague:
- Payment and tax records — invoices and transaction references, for the period Indian tax and company law requires us to retain them. These are financial records, not a profile of you.
- Audit log entries — the record of what was done on the account and when, with your name, address and device details removed from it. Deleting the record of a deletion would defeat the point of having one.
- Moderation records — where content of yours was reported and acted on, the decision is retained with your account detached from it, so a pattern of abuse against another student is not erased by the abuser closing their account.
Anything retained is kept only for as long as its purpose requires and is not used to contact you or to build a profile.
07Your username is released
When the account is finally deleted, your handle goes back into the pool and someone else may take it. Nothing reserves it for you, so if you expect to return, that is a reason to cancel within the 30 days rather than sign up again later. See Terms of Use § Your username.
08If you have a paid plan
Deleting your account does not refund a subscription, and it does not by itself cancel a future renewal cleanly — cancel the plan first from Billing & plans → My plans, then delete the account. Cancelling stops autopay immediately.
Full terms: Cancellation & Refund Policy.
09Changing your mind
Within the 30 days, just sign in again with the same number. That cancels the deletion and restores the account exactly as it was — practice history, RP and handle intact. We email you to confirm it was restored.
After 30 days there is nothing left to restore. Starting again means a new account, from zero.
One exception: if the account was closed by us rather than by you, signing in will not reopen it. Contact hr@aashita.ai, or appeal through grievance redressal.
